Gallery Import Help
The Gallery Importer allows you to quickly import existing galleries from any website. Here is what the tool looks like:
Enter the URL to retrieve the galleries from and click 'Get Galleries' to retrieve all the available URLs on a page. If the page requires a login, etc. you may need to first save the page using IE or Firefox and either enter the full file path in the Gallery Retrieval URL field or upload the copy of the page elsewhere. To only retrieve URLs not already stored in Submit Machine, check the 'Only Import New Gallery URLs' option.
To limit the retrieval to specific URLs using pattern matching, enter a regular expression in the 'URL Match Regex' field. The possibilities are endless.
Simple Examples:
-To retrieve only URLs containing "alison-angel" enter "alison-angel" (without quotes) in the regular expression field.
-To retrieve URLs containing "sweet-adri" or "melissa-midwest" enter "(sweet-adri)|(melissa-midwest)" (without quotes) in the regular expression field.
After importing your galleries, you can press 'Enter' to jump between the same fields on different galleries to rapidly edit gallery information.
Tools:
Get Long Title From Page Titles - Retrieves the 'Long Title' field of the Gallery from the HTML <title> at the gallery URL. Only helpful if you have good page titles, which helps immensely with Search Engine Optimization.
Find and Replace - Basic find and replace from any field within all galleries.
Insert Text Before/After - Useful for quickly entering info into a field (i.e. Site Name, part of the Short Title, base Picture Path) for every gallery.
